HEART 9/11 Hurricane Dorian Response Team – consisting of expertly skilled volunteers from NYCDCC, Local 79 and FDNY – is working in Freeport, Grand Bahama, New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay, McLean’s Town Cay, High Rock, Abaco Island – assessing work to be done, stripping roofs, replacing wood, tarping damaged roofs to allow families to return to a dry home.  Few residents remain on the island – many lost everything and traveled to other islands to stay with relatives. People line up for food and water daily in Green Turtle Cay waiting for rebuilding to begin. HEART 9/11 is working with private industries and government agencies to organize responses in communities underserved.
