HEART 9/11 deployed 23 Rebuild team members to Manta/Salinas de San Vicente, Ecuador to build 50 emergency pre-fab houses in 5 days June 24 — July 1. The HEART 9/11 Ecuador Earthquake Rebuild Team arrived in Guayaquil and travelled by bus 2-1/2 hours north to the city of Manta. The Team was boots on the ground in Manta erecting emergency pre-fab homes. Thank you New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and Laborers Local 79 – New York City for supporting HEART 9/11’s mission to Respond immediately to natural and man-made disasters; Rebuild infrastructure in hard-hit areas to meet immediate needs; Recover by building resiliency for individuals, families and communities. Traveling with the Rebuild team was HEART 9/11 Director of Visual Media & Documentation Rob Kolodny who sent images/updates during the mission.Thank you IIASA CAT, Antonio Gomez, for providing the much needed tools to expedite the build of these pre-fab homes.
