The HEART 9/11 Rebuild team will provide the skilled labor to rebuild the homes of 2 HEART 9/11 apprentices damaged by Hurricane Matthew outside of Port Au Prince, Haiti. Work to be done includes block walls, installing windows/doors and roofing to make the homes weatherproof. The HEART 9/11 Apprentice Program began in 2010 and involves HEART 9/11 volunteers mentoring Haitian students through an apprentice program that transfers knowledge and experience to a new generation of skilled volunteers, who are then empowered to help their communities and themselves. Thank you HEART 9/11 volunteers from Laborers Local 79 – New York City LiUNA Local 79’s Apprentice Program for answering the call for help. Check back for daily updates on the project.
