Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH hosted its annual conference at Harvard Medical School, October 20-23, 2016. This year’s course, “Mind Body Medicine: Its Role in Compassionate Care,” provided hundreds of clinicians and mind body practitioners from across the globe an opportunity to explore cutting-edge research, share best practices and discover new strategies for treating patients. HEART 9/11 members were invited by Dr. Herbert Benson – Director Emeritus of the Benson-Henry Institute (BHI), and Mind Body Medicine Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Dr. Gregory Fricchione because of our critical work with the wellness of first responders. This is a first in the history of BHI- inviting non-clinicians to the conference. The HEART 9/11 partnership with the Benson-Henry Institute will result in a modified SMART Program tailored to the first responder community. We are honored to partner with the Benson-Henry Institute as we help first responders deal with stress.
