Bill Keegan, HEART 9/11 Founder/President, was invited to speak at the West Point Veterans Invitational, the second annual nationwide gathering dedicated to promoting the way forward in US civil-military relations and improving the lives of veterans. This year’s gathering, whose theme was “Many Ways to Serve,” was hosted at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Bill sat on the Veterans’ Outreach, Empowerment, and Accountability panel discussion Saturday. He spoke about how important it is to build networks and relationships and invited veterans to join HEART 9/11 so that they can help other injured veterans. The support of fellow veterans can be very empowering and helps veterans avoid isolation. Working with HEART 9/11 on a veteran home rebuild project connects them with first responders who experienced 9/11. It is a unique way HEART 9/11 can transfer knowledge and personal recovery to veterans. It was a great honor for HEART 9/11 to represent first responders and help in the recovery of our military veterans.
