HEART 9/11 sent a Flood Response Team to Wimberly, TX in early September on a fact finding mission. The Flood Response Team leaders reviewed the current community needs and worked to establish a preliminary long-term plan to rebuild/restore flood damaged homes, schools and community structures in hard hit areas. HEART 9/11 is sending mental health facilitators to TX to connect with first responders who were involved in the evacuation of hundreds of people from their homes when rivers were at flood stage in 108 locations in early spring. Extreme river and creek flooding broke many records and swept away hundreds of homes. There is much work for HEART 9/11 to do in Texas.
