Ventura

Once again HEART 9/11 says yes to our heroes; the wounded, severely injured returning troops that have given so much to us. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday a full HEART 9/11 team will execute a major renovation on partially paralyzed USMC Lance Corporal William Ventura’s home in Selden, Long Island.
The Ventura family also lost their older son, USMC Corporal Jerome Ventura, while serving his country. This Gold Star family, having lost one son to war and another son disabled, has sacrificed and paid a price for freedom that can never be repaid. William Ventura’s mother, Cyndi, has been extremely involved in Gold Star Mom programs and has found it in her heart to give back as a way of moving forward.
LCpl. Ventura’s home must be made handicap-accessible in an effort to meet his needs, and to provide him with the freedom and independence he deserves. During this busy holiday season HEART 9/11 members will spend the weekend before Christmas working on the home renovations and changing the lives of the Ventura family. Thank you HEART 9/11 volunteers for adapting your busy calendars to help pay back to a family that has given so much and demonstrating – in true HEART 9/11 form – that from sorrow and pain we can not only survive but we can thrive by helping others.
During this holiday season please consider helping HEART 9/11 with a donation – https://heart911.org/ – to complete this project. You can follow our progress on Facebook.
