HEART 9/11’s International Response Team hit the ground running in Haiti Saturday. Construction started on the firehouse. The Apprentice Training Program continues to teach building and safety skills to young people in the community we are serving. HEART 9/11 is happy to see our old friends and welcome a few new faces to the Apprentice Training Program.
The firehouse build makes this the eighteenth trip HEART 9/11 has made to Haiti assisting the people in urban Port-Au-Prince and in the mountain community of Fond Parisien thanks to the support from Jefferies & Co.
Once again, award winning HEART 9/11 film makers Robert Kolodny and Bennett Elliott will be documenting the work the organization is doing. They have traveled numerous times to Haiti with HEART 9/11 and will be sending photos and videos of daily activity.
We have created a new fundraising campaign HEART 9/11 FIREHOUSE & MARKETPLACE PROJECT – FOND PARISIEN, HAITI to support this current mission. We hope with your efforts to continue making an impact in a community we have grown to love.
