The H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 crew surprised even themselves with how fast they were able to frame up the pharmacy on Monday. The following were accomplished – all framing of the pantry, storage and cooks quarters; overhead storage and second floor sleeping quarters, and preliminary electrical wiring. Today’s agenda is full of plans to continue building even more rapidly, with the hope of ending early so that the crew can take an afternoon trip to revisit some of the villages that had welcomed us on earlier trips. It is easy to get a sense of how powerful and impactful this facility will be on the community especially hearing from the apprentices about what their experiences were before and after the earthquake. Today we will be accompanying several Love A Child doctors who will be visiting several remote mountain villages to distribute medical aid and supplies.
Please check back tomorrow for a status update from Bennett Elliott and Robert Kolodny (NYC).
