Dear Members and Supporters,

Dear Members and Supporters, The past 45 days have been, as it always seems to be with events relating to the WTC attacks, painful and rewarding. Having spoken with many of you, your thoughts reflect my experience that the 10th Anniversary was far more difficult than we had anticipated. The memories and grief were amplified. H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 volunteers put aside their feelings of sorrow and loss just as we did ten years ago, and responded to the calls for help from new disaster victims, those of Hurricane Irene. We responded in New Jersey and New York working with our fellow non-profits and government agencies to “get the job done.” Real work with tangible positive results, thank you. I am very proud of the men and women of H.E.A.R.T. 9/11; yesterday and today.

“Dear H.E.A.R.T. 9/11, I want to thank you for the Single Soldier Event that was held here at Fort Drum. I am a new soldier here and I didn’t know many people and felt a little scared. But thanks to you and everyone else that was part of the event, I was able to meet other soldiers and people that support us. Thank you for everything that you did.”
And this….
“I just wanted to thank you for the event that you had set up for us single soldiers. I believe I can speak for all who had attended and say we had a great time and appreciated all that was provided to us. From the food to the games, to the karaoke, which was a blast, and of course to the ever so needed beer. It was nice to have the retired guys from triple deuce and all the other members who support us there. Being able to interact with them was something we all enjoyed. Again, thank you for all your hard work and we of course will keep doing what we are here to do for you and hope to see you soon.”
