Dr. Eth is a graduate of New York University, Magna Cum Laude, UCLA Medical School and is a Rhodes Scholar who attended graduate school at Oxford University, Oxford, England. Dr. Eth was Vice Chairman and Medical Director, Department of Psychiatry, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center (SVCMCNY), 1996-2001 and was instrumental in the response to the 9/11 attack and the emotional fall out from the psychological trauma. Dr. Eth testified before the US Senate Health Committee on the psychiatric consequences of the World Trade Center disaster, September 26, 2001. He testified before the US House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Subcommittee on Government Management about the persistent mental health effects of 9/11, September 10, 2007. Dr. Eth continues his work with veterans as Director, Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program, University of Miami, which began when he was Chief of Clinical Services, Mental Health Clinic, Veterans Administration Medical Center, West Los Angeles (VAMC), 1984-1987. He appeared on the 2011 U.S. News and World Report Top Doctors list. Dr. Eth is the author/co-author of ninety three journal articles, fifty book chapters, and is the editor/co-editor of four books.
