John is a founding member of HEART 9/11 retired Lieutenant from the NYPD after serving the people of New York City for 23-years. He served most of his career assigned to the elite Emergency Service Unit. He says one of his more humbling professional experiences was when he was assigned as the night tour Platoon Commander working at the World Trade Center site. “We were tasked with a sacred job of bringing loved ones back to their families, a job we all took to heart because we were not only looking for innocent victims, but our friends & family as well.” Mr. Moran graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the New York City with a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science and is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy.

He currently is an independent consultant that designs training programs & operating procedures in matters of Homeland Security, incident & emergency management. Mr. Moran is a member of a number of professional & social organizations including the NYPD Lieutenant’s Benevolent Association, the NYPD Retired Lieutenant’s Association, the FBI National Academy Associates, the Rockland County, NY Shields, and the Retired Emergency Man’s Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the FBINAA Charitable Foundation where he serves as the Foundation Treasurer.

John, his wife, Karen, and their two lovely daughters, Nicole & Kaileigh reside in Florida. John also is an active member of his local community both as a Firefighter/EMT & Public Safety Instructor.
